dress refashion

I feel guilty sometimes cutting up perfectly good clothing in an attempt to make something else. I just hate to waste. So, I struggled with cutting this dress up, but it's too small for both girls and wasn't the right season when they wore 18 month clothes. Since I really did love the print, I decided to go for it.
Glad I did! Bug was very pleased, and super cooperative for a photo shoot. Since it got as warm as 42 degrees today, I let her go out without a jacket. Heatwave!
It has a pink band on the top, since I botched the original one. I actually liked it better in the end!

  1. i have the SAME problem! even if she doesn't fit into it, it is just TOO precious to cut, maybe SOMEDAY someone will wear it again, I need to just bite the nail and do it too! After all, your skirt turned out ADORABLE! AND useable!

  2. I don't have kids, but when I do I am definately going to re-use their clothes, it saves money and sometimes the re-fashioned items are better than any of the clothes in the shops.
Thanks for sharing, your daughter is gorgeouse by the way (sure you know that already!)
